Hey Super Trainers, This is Chris Jarvis owner of Elite Fitness in Sycamore, Illinois. I wanted to share with you a little bit about what I learned on my VIP day(s)… The first thing I noticed when I walked into Fitness Concepts was the energy of the place. It was 4:50am, but the place was packed and everyone was all smiles and getting each other pumped to workout. I immediately noticed a few things different about Sam’s place than the many others that I’ve been to. A few things that jumped out right away that I really liked… -Everyone who came in, including staff, put on a name tag. In a lot of Boot Camps, the newer clients or people on trials don’t know anyone and nobody knows who they are just yet. This simple trick took care of that problem, especially with the amount of people that workout there. This is something I’m going to implement immediately. -Social proof, social proof, and more social proof. If you’ve seen the inside of Fitness Concepts you know what I mean. You can’t miss the HUGE posters on the walls of the before/after’s of his success stories. There are even more in […]

Let me first say that this email wasn’t meant to “brag” or “boast’ in anyway. None of this would be possible without the man upstairs, living in the greatest country in the world and all my wonderful clients, partners, employees and all people that are close to me that have paved the way to my success. Again, what’s success to me might NOT be success to you. We all have our own definition of success. *********************** The other day as I was walking out of the gym at 5:30am and all of a sudden I had an epiphany. (yes my favorite time to train is 4am. I can’t wait to jump out of bed and start my day right) I all of a sudden shouted “D*** Life is Good” I realized that life for me just can’t get much better than it already is. I realized that… I have married my best friend. (wife and I were friends long before I charmed and drugged her into liking me ;) I have a beautiful newborn (Hailee Jean Bakhtiar) and a four year old daughter (Bailee Rose Bakhtiar) who I absolutely adore and love. I honestly don’t want to spend one second […]

It’s about two close friends of mine name “Alex” They are very close in age, ethnicity, background but their mindset couldn’t be different. One loves to work hard and thrives on adversity. He is very uncomfortable being comfortable. The other one loves comfort and crumbles in adversity. He will do anything to get back to his comfort zone. One has a fat bank account, but cringes when he spends a red penney if its not going towards his ultimate goal. The other has $100 in his bank account but has $300 Dre Beats headphones and $200 pair of fresh new Jordans. One invests in himself by paying to learn from others who he aspires to be like. The other invests in material products that do absolutely nothing for his future and thinks hiring a mentor is a waste. One surfs the internet trying to gain knowledge and read everything about his craft. The other surfs the Internet looking at what his favorite celebrity is doing. One is SWOLE. The other one wants to be SWOLE. One is a consumer. The other one is an entrepreneur. One is a dreamer Other is a doer. One learned how to delay gratification at […]

Have you ever asked yourself the question, “What makes me different from all the rest?” I asked myself that question 4 years ago. I own a gym in Huntington Beach, California. Where there is a gym on “literally” every corner. I actually have 3 Crossfit gyms within a ½ mile of my facility. So the competition is fierce! If I wanted to survive, I had to answer that question. And when I first asked myself that question, I did not like the response that I received in return. Yes, my customer service was amazing. Yes, I offered a bunch of services like Personal Training, Boot Camps, Group Training Sessions. I even got into the MMA game and offered all those classes. BUT I still didn’t have anything that made me any different from my competition. They were offering all the same things that I was. I had to come up with something! Now I hate talking bad about people or organizations, but I have to say, I got a lot of clients from the Crossfit gym across the street from me. It was usually after they were injured or once they were done throwing up, they would walk over to […]

Have you ever been a part of a Team? If so, how did it make you feel? For me, I loved being a part of a Team. In High School I was on the Wrestling Team and the Football Team. On game day, I loved walking the hallways at school with my jersey on. But it wasn’t all about showing off. The connection that you have with your other Teammates is something you cannot explain unless you have experienced it. The wins and the losses that you share with them create a bond that cannot be broken. And the way a Teammate can feed off another Teammates motivation when he or she is down. It’s not just about you. You’re not out there all alone. If you need help, a Teammate is always there to help you up. I also experienced this type of Team when I was in the Marine Corps. Talk about a bond! Your not going to find a stronger Team bond anywhere. I do believe the more hardship you go through with a person or Team, the stronger the bond becomes. Being in life threatening situations day in and day out will really bring a Team […]
