This is a little off topic from Personal Training, but follow me on this … Hey did you read that book THE GAME by Neil Strauss that came out a couple of years ago? I happen to LOVE that book, and if you haven’t read it yet it’ll probably be one of the most entertaining books you EVER read. Even the ladies love it, even though it’s all about the tricks and tactics about how to crawl into their pants! The only problem with the book is that a lot of people make a huge mistake after they’ve finished it – they think the book endorses becoming a PICK-UP artist which it doesn’t. What Neil points out through the book is these PUA’s are actually big-time geeks and losers. To get interest from girls you need to have an identity and have a social life – that’s the real key.

Is Personal Training a business? I think most people would look at it that way, because most people do it for money … Well I’m here to say it’s not a business – calling it one really misses the point. If you’ve been having trouble with long hours, a lack of money, or low satisfaction, this might be where you’re getting it twisted. At the basic level, this industry has different rules. When it comes down to an intangible product changing hands, it’s not as easy as just calling it a business. Believe me, I tried that and went down that road. I tried to milk every possible dollar out of being a trainer early in my career – I read the business books, went to the sales conferences, was committed to working 16 hour days, and all of that. Didn’t work – with training you can’t think of it like that – customers can see right through it.

You can’t reach your full potential selling CHEESE PUFFS – I’ll tell you what I mean by that in a second …. But when I’m talking about reaching your full potential, I mean TRANSFORMATION: going from who you are now to the person you want to be. Personal Training is unique because it can be the vehicle – I just recorded a little video explaining this idea: [youtube nDW5C71rUEY nolink]

It’s SUMMER and the weather’s been gorgeous here in New York, in case you were wondering why the posts have slowed down a bit … And that’s exactly what I want to talk about right now – because of all the great things this job and life can give you, here’s number one: THE FITNESS LIFESTYLE It’s time to bring this thing back to center – let’s talk about the aspect of training that shapes everything – YOUR LIFESTYLE. I’ve put together a FULL REPORT to get the subject started . Make absolutely no mistake about it – As you know I’ve had THE BIGGEST names in the industry on this BLOG; but were you paying attention to what they were saying? ALL of these Top-Level Trainers got where they are because they put Lifestyle first – their priority was creating a specialty, work-life, and business that worked for their life and personal goals. It was THAT focus that allowed them to grow into successes. That’s just common sense right? Of course it is, because if what you’re doing professionally doesn’t fit with the life you have in mind, how is it supposed to work?!?! And even if it does […]

I’VE ALMOST GOT MY ICE GRILL DOWN PAT!!!! Just had a craaazzzyyy friday night out here in Vegas – absolutely sick. Until now Super-Trainer has been all about the trainers – about getting you quality information on Personal Training minus the b.s. and rhetoric.
