Fitness Marketing – PERSONAL TRAINING DEGREE EXPOSED!!!

[spoiler] Kaiser here. You’re watching me as part of the blog on Super-Trainer.com where we break down the personal training business for what it really is and I just wanted to record a little video to accompany a post I just wrote. It was about the personal training degree being offered by Purdue University which is pretty cool. It’s a landmark thing. No one ever offered a degree in personal training before that. There are degrees in things like kinesiology and sports science but never in just personal training. So I wanted to talk about that a little more and talk about whether or not it was a good or bad thing and if you read the post, you’re going to know that I don’t think it is a good thing. So I have to put such a heavy standard on – a heavy credential for someone to get started in the personal training business. The way you see training practice today for the most part is it’s a leadership. It’s a mentorship position. It’s where you live something yourself and you get that emotion, that motivation across another person. I don’t think a degree can really capture that. It’s […]

[spoiler] Kareem Samhouri: I haven’t had to sell at all in the personal training [Inaudible] business which is usually the hardest sale of that business, is personal training because for a lot of reasons [0:00:10] [Inaudible]. What I did is I just gave really the exact blend it takes to lose weight and a very important message, step by step. I walk you through the exercise [Inaudible]. I tell you exactly what to do in the exercises and what to go through and [Inaudible] and then at the end if you would like to get your information and blah, blah, blah, well, here’s what I found out. Number one is if anybody listens longer than 45 seconds, then [Inaudible]. You get every phone number so it’s like the – it’s the optimum squeeze page you could ever imagine because you get every phone number regardless of whether or not they hate the message. Participant: Yes, to me … [Crosstalk] [0:00:43] Participant: … you like to get their phone number. Kareem Samhouri: Yes, we’ve been able to get it down to the exact second. Below 45 seconds, we know that there’s a chance they will be interested or perhaps we can […]

[spoiler] Jason Hadeed: So we could water it down maybe a little bit based on where the fitness level is but I just thought that training like an athlete was always something that former athletes wanted to continue to do and I always use – I don’t – I’m a Nike guy but Under Armour did very well early on. They were marketing football, football, football, football and they still captured the fitness market, the female market and eventually came to start marketing specifically to those markets but they’re obviously operating on a larger scale. But the concept was everybody wanted to affiliate with that cuff, that brand that Under Armour was developing locally. Kaiser Serajuddin: Oh, yes. I mean that’s really one of the other things I wanted to ask you about. It seems like as a trainer, you kind of have these two faces. Like on the one side, you’re dealing with the strength, the power and the speed of the NFL athletes and that brutal sport. I mean it doesn’t get any more intense than that and then on the other side, you might be training a housewife. It might be a very fit housewife but it […]

[spoiler] Kaiser Serajuddin: Kaiser here on another issue of Super-Trainer where I introduce you to the brightest and the best in the fitness industry and today, I have exactly that. A trainer with one of the most diverse and probably coolest training practices that I’ve ever seen with a huge training business, working with professional football players and a Nike sponsorship himself. You’ve got to say he’s doing it all. Of course I’m talking about Jason Hadeed. Welcome Jason. Jason Hadeed: Hey. How are you guys doing? Kaiser Serajuddin: Good, good. I mean I talked about all the things you do. I mean if it sounds like I’m gushing over you, I’m a fan of yours, it’s because I am. I mean you got to be in this business to really appreciate what you did. I mean you also were a strength coach on the Olympic level with the ‘96, ‘98 bobsled team and a coach of the Ravens and the Redskins in the NFL. Now, that’s the first thing I want to get out of the way. I think a lot of new trainers, they’re going to be intimidated by your resume and may not even want to get […]

Fitness Marketing – JASON HADEED PERSONAL TRAINER FINAL INTERVIEW INTRO

[spoiler] Hey. What’s up? This is Kaiser. You’re watching me as part of the blog on Super-Trainer.com where me and some of the other big people in the personal training business bring you the real deal on training. What I want to do today is just go back and record a little intro for the conversation I had earlier this year with Jason Hadeed. As you all probably know, Jason was murdered earlier this year and it was a real tragic loss for all of us in the training community. Jason, he was nationally recognized as one of the top trainers in this business and when you look at it, his career was just starting to take off. He just signed a deal to double his training practice so he added a few more training facilities and he was heavily involved in the Nike SPARQ Program and if you’re watching TV, you know that SPARQ is just starting to blow up too. So really, really sad because he was cut down at the prime of his life. He was only 32 years old. That’s one of the main things we can take away, how much it’s possible for someone to […]
