Use Text Marketing To Get Referrals

Today I want to share with you a technique that will generate more referrals for your personal training business and it used through text marketing.

Text marketing is great because it is cheap, a higher open rate compared to email marketing, and you can get immediate response for your offers. This method of marketing is great for any fitness business.
We all know that our business can do a lot better through word of mouth. By using this text marketing strategy that I’m going to share with you today will create a system that will automate a ton of referrals day and night without any work on your end.

 

Here’s my strategy:

1) When someone signs up for your services, it is important to condition them and share with them how your business is based on referrals.
For my business I gift my clients $100 dollars for each referral they bring us.

2) The easiest way to get more referrals from your clients is to give them referral tools to use. The one tool that is working for me like crazy is sending a 1 week or 2 week pass to your boot camp or personal training studio through text messaging.

3) When someone signs up, explain to them your referral program and then instantly send them a 1 week or 2 week pass to their cell phone.
Script the pass as if they are writing it to their friends and family.

4) Once they receive your pass, instruct them to mass text all their friends, family, and co-workers this pass.
Here’s what the pass should say: “I just signed up at this AMAZING boot camp and the owner is offering a 2 week pass to the first 5 of my friends that respond. Text me now.”

 

This works for a number of reasons:

1) The text message is coming from a trusted friend so the response will be higher

2) The pass has a start and end date so their referrals shouldn’t feel like they are locked into anything

3) Your creating scarcity by only offering it to the first 5 people.

Imagine if you signed up 2-3 new clients a week and they sent that week pass text for you. Each client should be able to get you at least 10-15 new leads per week on automatic.

The great thing about this system, is that you don’t need to wait to do this with new clients, you can implement it today with your current boot campers. At the end or your workout gather all your clients and have them mass text their friends your week pass.

The chances of you converting these people are higher because they are referred from current clients.

I love this idea I am going to share this blog with all of our clients. Our fitness business scheduling and billing software has integrated texting so you can text all your clients easily and have a record of the last time you sent it to them!

What a great way to connect and make it easy for your clients to send you referrals!

Any suggestions for implementing it with old clients?

@Nikki- Segment your past client list and mass texting them a discounted rate just for them because you want them back. This works if you send snail mail, email, text message, and calling them for this special. I found reactivating clients works the best when you hit them up on all four marketing campaigns.
