Before I start my rant…..

First of all let me say Happy New Year and THANK YOU for being a loyal subscriber of my email newsletter.

Again, from the bottom of my heart I want to thank you.

What I am about to say applies to pretty much anything in life.

This is not a “Let’s Do This In 2013” email.

I am sure you already got plenty of that.

I am here to tell you the cold hard truth.

You Can’t Handle The Truth. (sorry, couldn’t resist. Big shout out to Jack Nicholson;)

As you know most fitness pros are going to set their new year “resolution” business goals this year.

I keep hearing…

“This is going to be my year”

And as you guessed it.

Most will fail.

That’s just sad.

Side Note: It’s also irritating to hear someone talk about “I am going to blow it up this year” for the tenth year in a row.

You know why that is?

Simple….

It’s human nature to seek comfort and avoid pain.

And nothing great was ever achieved by “comfort”

Going into 2013 remember that change requires PAIN.

Pain of getting used to being uncomfortable.

No one has achieved greatness without getting uncomfortable first.

That’s why most people come up short on their new year resolution.

A great fighter once said “Everyone wants to be a fighter until they get punched in the mouth”.

The great Ronnie Coleman said “everyone wants to be a bodybuilder but no one wants to lift these heavy a** weights”.

Bottom line: Everyone wants to enjoy success, but few are willing to work hard or take the necessary actions invoved

One of the greatest keys to success in anything is THE DISCIPLINE OF DELAYED GRATIFICATION.

The best book on the subject is “don’t eat the marshmallow yet”

So my friends….

For anything in YOUR life to change, means YOU have to change.

Albert Einstein said “Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result”.

And whether you like MJ personally or not, in his song Man In The Mirror he nailed it when he said “If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make Change”

Stop making resolutions and start making uncomfortable SHORT term changes that will give you comfortable LONG term results.

Most say “Peace, love and chicken grease”

I say PEACE, LOVE AND ELBOW GREASE

Your boy Sam,
