FITNESS TRENDS, NEW TRAINING MARKETS, GOING SOLO, and MAKING BIG MONEY | Special Guest Post By Super-Trainer Dave Parise
Posted on 24. Nov, 2009 by Kaiser.
My inbox gets slammed with so much email every day that I hardly read most of it - but ever now and then something comes in that I’m real glad came my way … That’s what happened a few days ago when I noticed an email from my buddy Dave Parise. He sent over a very cool and very timely guest post for the blog – and if you know Dave at all, you it’s going to be something that you’ve got to pay attention to. Here it is: ————————————————————————————– How can you be able to take an idea, a passion and turn it to a million $ company in less than three years. I did and we at Super-Trainer want you to as well. BE UNIQUE Always keep in mind where this business knowledge is coming from. There are many important principles of business. The first is to have a huge expanding market. If you were the best cassette tape manufacture in the country 10 years ago, would it matter today? No it doesn’t. In a growing and evolutionary industry, every year you would have to work harder and harder to make the same coin. One principle is to [...]

The New Online Personal Training Article In PFP Magazine: Here’s What You Didn’t See …
Posted on 26. Sep, 2009 by Kaiser.
My e-mail inbox got slammed all day yesterday with questions, comments, new blog sign-ups, and TOP-LEVEL TRAINER MANUAL orders, and it took me a little while to figure out what happened – PFP had finally released their TRENDS that had the piece they asked me to write as the feature article. Speaking of trends, it was all about ONLINE TRAINING. This is such a hot topic that you’ll remember we spent a very good bit of time focusing on it here on the blog. Well the article definitely struck a hot button with the audience and got a lot of interest. It’s kind of ironic that this was their first digital only issue and they’re featuring online fitness in it, but it looks like that’s where things are headed. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Let me steal their thunder a bit and re-post the article here – but be sure to check it the hi-tech digital version of this months issue here: personal training magazine. They did an excellent job editing and formatting the article. It starts on page 8 and goes all the way to page 12, and is really a beautiful piece. That magazine has really taken [...]

Answering Super-Trainer Reader Questions …
Posted on 03. Apr, 2009 by Kaiser.
Here’s a question I got recently from a Super-Trainer reader, Renee from Barbados. (I didnt’ know Personal Training was big out in Barbados – I might move out there) Renee’s question was very timely because there’s been some heat again in the press recently about Personal Training qualifications – Let me hear your opinion below:

GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND DO IT!!! A Super-Trainer CASE STUDY and SUCCESS STORY (Learn the step-by-step process of getting out of the gym and going solo right now)!!!
Posted on 16. Mar, 2009 by Kaiser.
I’m kind of blown away sometimes by the feedback this blog has got … It started as a way for me to get attention and learn from a few other people, and it’s turned into something real crazy … What I’m even more blow away by is the stories of people that have taken action based on the info they’ve gotten here, and have done some amazing things with it. Everyone tells me they have more clarity, purpose, and are accomplishing more in weeks and months than they have in years and years because of the insights and tactics they’ve learned here. I love that part – And even better is when every now and then, one of my newsletters or blog RSS’s bounce back because the trainer doesn’t work for that crappy gym where he had an email accout any more – Hahaha! Not a real testimonial, but twice as good!

THE HEALTH-CLUB SURVIVAL GUIDE!!! How To Survive The Gym And Move On To Big Things In Personal Training …
Posted on 12. Mar, 2009 by Kaiser.
Hey, have you been on the SUPER-TRAINER forum lately? There’s some good stuff happening over there so check it out. In particular, all of us trainers on the forum have come to a consensus on one important subject … It’s about whether you should work in a gym to gain experience when you first become a trainer, or if you can just skip this step and go straight to being independent. As you know, this blog is all about getting out of the toxic work environment of the big box-gyms. But on the forum, we came to a pretty ironic conclusion – that working at one of these gyms may serve a purpose after all. They’ll help you gain some quick experience before you make the jump to doing things privately, outside of one of these “fitness factories”.

THE THREE KEYS TO SUCCESS AS AN INDEPENDENT PERSONAL TRAINER!!! Get These Three Things Right, And Everything Else Will Fall In Line …
Posted on 05. Mar, 2009 by Kaiser.
Wow, it feels like for the past few months all I’ve been doing on the blog is promoting stuff – either other people’s or my own … It’s time to get back to what this blog is known for – the real world strategies it takes to get out of the gym and gain leverage as an independent Personal Trainer. On thinking over the subject recently, I was able to boil it down to three things. This is what separates the winners from the losers in this business. You might think it’s over-simplified to condense it all into 3 strategies, but if you get them right, it’s hard to see how you could screw it up.

Where FUN And FITNESS Collide!!! Talking to Underground Strength Coach ZACH EVEN-ESH about fitness SUCCESS! (watch the screen-capture of our hard-hitting conversation)
Posted on 03. Feb, 2009 by Kaiser.
I got on the phone recently with a guy that’s the living example of everything we talk about here on Super-Trainer – crazy man Zach Even-esh. By crazy, I mean only the workouts that you’ll find going on at his gym and see online in his videos. When it comes to business, Zach’s crazy like a fox, with his practice growing by leaps and bounds in the past couple of years, and with more big projects on the way. He’s got his hand in a little bit of everything – watching him you’ll see how to take an area of fitness you love, and put it out to the world through multiple-channels.

SUCCESS and DOING WHAT YOU LOVE – Special Guest Post by Personal Trainer Dave Parise (talking about the fallacy of hard work and the “10 year rule”)
Posted on 26. Dec, 2008 by Kaiser.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hope you had a healthy and happy one – my gift was getting to take a week off from writing a blog post. That was thanks to Dave Parise, because right now I’m going to re-gift the excellent post he made on the brand new Super-Trainer Forum. This post was pure magic, and I had to give it the credit it deserved. It was all about the issue of natural talent vs. the importance of mastery of something you love. The truth is very few us are born perfect (see picture on left). Everyone else, no matter who you’re talking about, had to put in a tremendous amount of effort before they reached the top of their game.

THE “BUSINESS” OF PERSONAL TRAINING: TALKING TO KELLI CALABRESE ABOUT GETTING SERIOUS IN FITNESS (listen to the in-depth audio of our conversation – new updated audio)
Posted on 14. Nov, 2008 by Kaiser.
Didn’t we just finish talking about how Personal Training wasn’t a business?!?! Yeah, but we’re going to shift gears and get down to BUSINESS – we’re going to talk about getting serious about fitness! Even though this blog is about passion and lifestyle, at a certain point you’ve got to make a decision: “Are you going to be a player, or are you going to keep riding the bench?” I got the chance to pick the brain of a lady that’s made a career of kicking trainers in the pants and reminding them to wake-up – Kelli Calabrese.

MAIL BAG!!! Answering Super-Trainer Reader E-mail and Questions (all through the miracle of streaming video!)
Posted on 18. Aug, 2008 by Kaiser.
Real funny how things turn out … Super-Trainer started out as a fun way for me to talk (okay brag) about how amazing Personal Training’s been for me and some of the other trainers I know – a real difference from all the negative crap I was seeing and reading about on the web. It was also an answer to all the info getting thrown around that just doesn’t apply to this extremely unique career. It’s been a lot of fun, don’t get me wrong … an amazing ride for me with some new things coming up that are going to make it even more interesting. But you know what? I find I’m on my computer A LOT these days!!! (What’s worse is I can’t take my laptop to the beach – it just gets too damn hot!)

CASE STUDY: DOUG MURPHY – Crawl Inside the Head of a Top-Level Trainer! (special guest blog – this one’s goooood!!!)
Posted on 09. Aug, 2008 by Kaiser.
Better results in less time! Sounds like a cheesy sales pitch, but that’s what all of our clients come to us for, and as professionals we want the same thing. We want this private training practice handled! – bringing in high quality clients, giving them tremendous value, and achieving all of our immediate financial and professional goals The best way to get this info is to crawl into the head of someone that’s got it mastered; for that, I called up Doug Murphy. He’s built new, thriving training practices from scratch multiple times in different cities, and attracted major media coverage in the process. He’s got this thing down to a science, so if you want to get your practice established, he’s the man to ask. That’s what I did, and in response Doug came with some serious, real-world knowledge. You hardly ever get a top trainer opening up and sharing the mind-set behind how he does it – make sure you pay attention to this one!!!
