Fastest Way to “Blow Up” Your Business

Depends on how you define “Blow Up” If you’re looking for a short cut, jedi trick, a generic script then you might as well opt out of my emails. You’ll indeed blow up your business. I hope you say the same to your clients. There re no short cuts. Much like getting in shape and losing weight, business success is achieved through dedicating yourself to being the best YOU. You ain’t going to get there overnight. You’ll get there over TIME. Some gooroos teach that success is attracted to SPEEDS. I say so is DISASTER.   Knowledge ain’t power. Power is power. Knowledge without implementation is called wishful thinking. Implementation without prior knowledge and strategy is reckless. My boy Steve Krebs said it best…. “The Wolf that chases two rabbits at the same time goes hungry.” “Stop trying to do 10 things at once and focus on one until you “make the kill”. Don’t try to be a jack of all trades, because you will master none. Success is achieved through consistency, action and focus.” Now let’s go IMPLEMENT the right STRATEGY to blow up your business. Your boy Sam,

Client Getting Promotion

Client Getting Promotion

It’s really sad to see fitness professionals whoring themselves out. Running sale after sale, promotion after promotion just to get people in the door. And not really keeping any of them ;( Now don’t get me wrong…. Every once in a while a “low barrier of entry offer” is not a bad idea to get in front of more people. But it really gets played out if it’s overdone. Let me give you an example from another industry. Not too long ago… General Motors, Ford and Toyota were competing for world supremacy. (gross revenue) General Motors and Ford were #1 and #2 respectively. Toyota however was catching up fast, by making more innovative, reliable cars. Worried that Toyota is going to surpass them, GM and Ford soon started offering HUGE incentives like…. 10K off 0% financing And all kinds of “discounts” to get people to buy. HUGE mistake… They were so concerned about GROSS revenue that they forgot about profitability and margins. Instead of concentrating to make a better product, they were concentrating to make more sales. In 2008 economic crisis And that’s the kiss of death my friends….. In 2008 economic crisis, GM and Ford filed for bankruptcy and […]

The other day I received a message from a close friend of mine. Has this ever happened to you…. See below [contentbox width=”500″ borderwidth=”1″ borderstyle=”double” bordercolor=”000000″ dropshadow=”5″ backgroundcolor=”F5F5F5″ radius=”3″] ********************* Hey Sam! How are you? Hey quick question. I need to know how to deal with something on an emotional level and maybe you can help me. Over a year ago I had a really great trainer. He worked with me for probably about a year and a half. He left, opened up his own place, solicited all my clients on FB and has been shmoozing them getting them into his business. I give 100% to everyone with follow ups, emails, good fitness content, texts, FB messages, phone calls, lunch dates, etc. Some more than others, but I give it my all. Some of my clients graduate from my program which I get and then I find out they are with him. Some even leave in the middle of my program and go to him. I’m a girl and I’m sensitive so it hurts. Throughout the years I have gotten stronger and way better about people leaving, but going to him it bothers me so much and makes me feel […]

Squash the Fear

Squash the Fear

And when I say you can be weak or you can be strong, I’m not referring to physical strength. Listen, I don’t care how big your biceps are or how much you bench. I’ve seen the biggest guys cower like frightened children when it came to facing their fears. The strength of your mind is real power and it’s something you can’t hide from (even behind diesel arms). Now before you think I’m going to overload you with some “Law of Attraction” hugs and kisses, think again. What I want to share with you right now are 7 principles I’ve picked up over the last 15 years. These principles have helped keep my mind strong while squashing the fear that comes from growing and breaking new ground.   Principle 1: Feel the Fear Taking risks and pushing your potential is scary. It’s that way for everybody. Simply put, it’s a built in mechanism we all possess to keep us safe with where we are in life. It’s your job to assess new growth opportunities and if they make sense then seize them regardless of your fear. Now let’s not get this twisted… […]

What is YOUR Fitness Business USP?

What is YOUR Fitness Business USP?

Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or complete rookie when it comes to building a business, one of the most important keys to being successful is a unique selling proposition, or USP. BusinessDictionary.com defines a USP as the following: Real or perceived benefit of a good or service that differentiates it from the competing brands and gives its buyer a logical reason to prefer it over other brands. USP is often a critical component of a promotional theme around which an advertising campaign is built. But what is a USP, without the textbook jargon? Too often in business, it’s “monkey see, monkey do.” We look at the local big box gym, and assuming that they are profitable (which is a big assumption!), and do what they do with regards to our marketing and selling. This is a HUGE mistake! I know my boy Sam has given you the ins-and-outs when it comes to marketing, but needless to say, if you’re doing what the big-box gyms are doing, you need to take a step back and reconsider. But here’s another, more pressing issue that I’m seeing… Rather than following big box gyms, a lot of local business owners are simply trying to […]
