Do You Have Holes In Your Bucket

This is post is from my awesome friend/coaching client and Super-Trainer regular contributor Jeff “Sherminator” Sherman. Jeff THANK you for the unsolicited kind words. As much as I would like to take credit for your success, it’s you my friend that took massive action and put the advice to work. I look forward to see many more best months, best years, etc…. **************************************************************************************************************************************************** Hey it’s Jeff Sherman, Hope you are doing great and you’re killing it in your fitness business. First of all, I want to thank Sam for everything he has done to help me grow my business. A lot of the stuff I share on here has come from him. I hired Sam as a business coach in October 2011 after attending his mastermind. I have to say, it is the best business decision I have made. I had just moved into my stand alone indoor boot camp location. I had a lot of my members pay in full for the year so I could get enough money for the build out. So in October, my EFT had dropped to just under $6,000 gross. It was just enough to break even at the end of the month. But with […]

Disastrous Expansions – When Bigger’s Not Better

Disastrous Expansions – When Bigger’s Not Better

Expansion isn’t necessarily a good thing. Think about Kirstie Alley’s out-of-control ballooning “expansion” for one!  Yet, on the other hand, you can have a perfectly sexy woman like Gisele expand to bear children and drop every ounce of “baby fat” lickety-split. Well, alright, all weights aside, what I really want to talk about is BUSINESS expansion. I don’t want to talk about winners like Donald Trump (um, despite his outbreak of birther insanity that killed his potential run for the presidency) or winners like Oprah Winfrey (who is now retiring, leaving people literally in tears wondering, “OMG – Who will I ever look up to for inspiration now? How will I know what books to read? Who will tell me what celebrities are cool? Where else can I see Tom Cruise jump on a couch? How will I have a chance to win a car just for sitting in the audience of her boring show?”) I’d like to look specifically at defunct fitness chains – fitness failures, if you will. Some of them are just downright shocking. How stupid do you have to be to fail at an upscale fitness center in Manhattan? You’ve got a captive audience of over […]

Hey this is Mark from the UK. My little bro (were identical twins…but I’m 9mins older so I get the title!) and I own a studio in Bedford. We run semi private Pt, 1:1 (ughh don’t do it!), Boot Camps & Strongman and a few other things on the side ;-). Its pretty cool, as we have expanded so that all of the above can go on at the same time. There’s a way to improve your hourly profits! If you wanna connect with us go to www.facebook.com/thedoublevisionconditioningcentre We haven’t got a massive number of clients (182 at last count), but hey my brother and I don’t have to train anyone, have 3 trainers, 1 admin and a salesperson and never have to do anything someone else says. Oh and we get to train twice a day and the money ain’t bad either ;-) Lets get straight into it. Systems, systems, systems. I bet if you read marketing blogs you cant get away from the fact everyone tells you to systemize…..but have you done it? Don’t think you need to? Do you find yourself answering the same questions from your staff? Do you constantly think of what you need to […]

Dear Mr. Nickles, we will miss you sooooo much. You been a part of our family for over 15 years. You have given us so much joy , happiness and lasting memories. Even when you were young the doctors told us that you would be lucky to see the age of 4 given your spinal condition. THANK you for protecting us and sticking around to see my little princess. We love you very much and hope to see you one day in doggie heaven.

Less is More?

Guest Blog Post by Roy Schuhmacher. I couldn’t agree more….. Simple phrase used a lot in life, but in this breakdown it’s explaining the POSITIVE effects of having a short list of  program options when closing a client. I look at it like this, Mcdonalds… Low quality food and has 40ish options on how to stuff your face. They are a well known fast food joint, but aren’t as dominate as some of the newer companies out there now. IN-N-OUT Burger, a very dominate and virally spreading QUALITY drive thru monster. Why?! Because they have 3 choices on the menu, its simple, quality, and doesn’t confuse the customer. The problem with closing people is that they think too much, and act too little. So why confuse them and add to the objection pile by giving them 12 options to choose from? Make it simple, 2-3 options, nothing fancy, keep it short and sweet, then zip your trap and let them decide. Because remember they are already sitting across from you in your office….. and interested. If they weren’t interested they wouldn’t have sat down in the first place. So here is your chance, don’t screw it up! Drop your sales […]
