I don’t personally know Tim Ferriss.  Unlike most of the people in the online space that would give him a handjob on site, if I saw him at a bar I’d probably stand at the other end. But I do have a ton of respect for his work.  If you want a very short and condensed guide on time management, small business marketing, non-conformity, and lifestyle design, The Four Hour Workweek is it.  I’ve only skimmed through The Four Hour Body, but I liked what I read.  My brother has done the Slow Carb diet from the book, and since it came out he’s dropped 13 pounds of fat and turned into even more of jacked beast. So although I’m not a raving fan Tim’s, I’m not one of his haters either.  I just recommend people like and respect him as a hard working guy trying to make a buck like the rest of us.   Actually, considering the content of his two books and the fact that he was a direct response marketer in the sports supplement industry in his previous life, he is EXACTLY like us.  And the way he parlayed that into becoming  an investor and leader […]

If you’re an ambitious trainer looking to get more (income, growth, and freedom) out of your fitness business, and willing to do whatever it takes to get it, you’re going to love today’s article. It’s about something that can be one of the biggest internal blocks that ends up putting a glass ceiling on your income and the efficiency with which your business runs. It’s a myth that the MAJORITY of the training industry tries to perpetuate, but that as a follower of this site, you should definitely know better about: That the best trainers don’t necessarily make the most money.  And being in better shape than the next trainer doesn’t mean you’ll have a better fitness business or make more money either. Just the fact you are in shape does not make you a good fitness business owner.  It’s not even close to being the deciding factor. You need to have integrity for what you do – but JUST being in shape is not the decider.  And just because a trainer is in shape, they are […]

What’s up gang – it’s been a bit longer than I’d like between articles here, but if I’m MIA, you’d better believe that I’m hustling hard behind the scenes.  Hope your fitness business is growing and you’re in heavy grind mode as well. Right now I’ve got something cool that you might like.  I recently turned in my monthly column for PFP Magazine, and like I’ve mentioned before, I kept it on the Vanilla side. The rest of the fitness business isn’t really ready for the type of stuff we talk about here, and especially in my programs. Actually the article I sent over was a variation on an old article I had here almost two years ago.  Back then this info was pretty groundbreaking, but by now, everything I shared is pretty much common knowledge to you if you’ve been a reader of this site for any amount of time. Sadly, for the rest of the industry, most of my article I’m sure will be earth shattering.  That’s fine as long as it gets them moving in the right direction. What I’m going to do right now is break down for you everything I put into that article.  […]
