SEMI-PRIVATE TRAINING SESSIONS: The Quick and Easy Way For Anyone to Hit the $100-$200/Session Mark! Part two of a NOW three part series …
Posted on 29. Jan, 2009 by Kaiser.
There’s something about money that gets people talking! That’s what happened with my first post on $100 training sessions last week. In that post I set-up the subject and it resulted in some strong input from readers. Just like last time, I’ll open by saying that money’s not everything when you’re an independent trainer. When I first went solo I put money first and was quickly frustrated and burnt out. What I realized is that the approach to being a high level solo trainer is different. It’s about doing a few things really well – about quality. It’s at that point that your rates can go up so you don’t have to work a ton of hours to make the money you want.

Posted on 17. Jan, 2009 by Kaiser.
The $100 training session – you’d have to call it the holy grail of Personal Training. It’s the right of passage – the sign that you’ve made it. It’s what separates the elite trainer from everyone else. Does money and income define you? Hardly. But in our society it’s how we keep score. And something about the $100 session puts you in a different league in your own mind, you client’s, other trainers, and society at large (after all, how many people can pull a hundred bucks in an hour for their services?). So let’s get into this issue right here. With all the different tricks and strategies trainers use to grow their businesses and get more money out of their clients, the most simple, obvious, and effective is raising your session price.

“HOW MUCH SHOULD I CHARGE FOR MY TRAINING?” Let’s Explore Everything That Relates to Price In Personal Training …
Posted on 21. Nov, 2008 by Kaiser.
How much should you charge for your training sessions? I once heard that price is relative to the cost of everything else on sale in the marketplace – well with Personal Training it gets even more tricky than that. That’s because training is an intangible service that’s highly dependent on the person delivering it (the trainer, ie YOU) That’s what this blog is about by the way – if the product is YOU, then no one should be telling you how much to charge or be steeling any of your money. Dumping the gym is the first step to getting paid what you’re worth. Back on subject, your rates aren’t dependent on the number of certifications you have, the kind-of shape you’re in, or how many years you’ve been a trainer. These are all factors that influence the price, but they don’t determine it.

WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL ABOUT PERSONAL TRAINING?!?! Work, Freedom, And A Six Figure Income In American Society …
Posted on 16. May, 2008 by Kaiser.
CHUMP-CHANGE: that’s what it feels like I’m making sometimes compared to the MILLIONS you hear people talking about all over the internet. I got a cheesy automated email from a fitness marketer the other day talking about how he’s a MILLIONAIRE and one of his buddies is earning over 150K a month! It takes me a year to earn that much, so there’s kind of a natural feeling you get that you’re missing out on something big … So what’s the big deal about Top-Level Training? Why should someone want to be a Personal Trainer and earn just 100K? Well the answer has nothing to do with money …

PERSONAL TRAINERS BLOGGING FOR DOLLARS: PART 2 WITH EUGENE THONG – Full breakdown of the importance of blogging for trainers.
Posted on 03. Apr, 2008 by Kaiser.
Just when you thought having a website was enough, things online have changed. Creating a static web-page where people come to get information isn’t enough anymore; you need to tell a story that people can connect with. But since you’re a living, growing human being, this story is constantly changing, and if you want to form a strong relationship with your customers, it’s one they’ll want to know about. This is where a blog comes in. With the Internet being about information, that’s precisely what your prospect is looking for when they’re searching for a trainer online. In order to be comfortable with you, they want to form a relationship before they even meet you. While in some ways your website can do that, it’s better to go even deeper. Often, the person that gives the visitor the most access and personal information is the one who’ll win the sale. That’ll be the person that formed the stronger relationship with the prospect, and the relationship is everything. What Is A Blog? Traditionally, a blog (short for web-log) was like an online diary, but consultants like us use it for a specific purpose: we transmit our knowledge, passion, philosophy, and values [...]

MAKING MONEY TRAINING TRAINERS – The new booming sector of the Personal Training Industry.
Posted on 04. Nov, 2007 by Kaiser.
“The field of personal training is red-hot … and almost completely unregulated. This means that the same people you’re relying on to keep you fit – and, more importantly, safe – during your private session may have neither training nor license to do so. Possible result? Severe injuries. Leave it to the New York Post to go for for that shock and awe value in the first line; that’s how an article from last September in the Post called “Not All Trainers Fit To Be Tried” started. That one line says a lot: – First off that the training field is red-hot – yup, that’s right, and as we’re going to find out, there isn’t money only in training clients, but also training trainers. – It’s unregulated, ie. isn’t surrounded by reams of red tape – This by the way is a good thing , especially for the trainers that know what they’re doing. – There are a lot of people in this industry that don’t have a clue what they’re doing. That last point is what this story is about: training education. More accurately, the article reads just like a Press Release for a new Personal Training School here [...]
