Learn From My Mistakes: 5 Bad Business Moves to Avoid
Posted on 18. Nov, 2011 by 7Figure Sam.
It seems people always like to talk about all the awesome shit they have accomplished……. Now that you think that I’m a cocky A-hole let’s discuss some serious stuff….. I want to share some mistakes that I have made over the past 6 years that will help YOU avoid some major hiccups in your life/business. We will define “partner” as anyone that is involved in your business, from employee to actual partnerships. Let’s face a hard cold truth right now: Partnerships are like marriages, they start with the best intentions, but at some point they will come to an end, and that end will most likely be a little messy. Make sure that you have all your ducks in a row when allowing ANYONE in that can affect your biz! My mistake came when I opened my business in 2007. I am a huge MMA fan, and have trained BJJ on and off for over 7 years….. So I thought I would open a personal training/ MMA school. Great Idea……. Not so much. To make a long story short, the two business didn’t fit with each other. The Instructor and I, did not see eye to eye on things. This [...]

TWENTY-SEVEN THINGS I LEARNED FROM GUNNAR PETERSON: Kaiser Meets Up With the Man at the Top of the Training Game
Posted on 17. Nov, 2011 by 7Figure Sam.
What’s up gang. Kaiser here. It’s been too long I know, but the post I have for you today is super-good. It was a pretty crazy weekend for me. I flew out to Cali to meet up with none other than Gunnar Peterson. If you don’t know who Gunnar is you should probably get out of the fitness business. He’s the world’s go-to celebrity trainer. With him, it’s not a question of which star he’s trained, because he’s trained ALL of them. It’s more a question of which A-lister he hasn’t trained, and it’s not very many. The reason I made the trip was to do some hands on research. I have an additional studio on the way, this one nearly twice as big as my current one, so who better to get some info on planning it than the man at the top of training game? Now, I wouldn’t even consider myself an acquaintance of Gunnar’s, as I’ve never met him in person before. But several months ago, he extended an invite to visit his facility to me. Because of his busy schedule, the couple of times I’ve been to Cali since then it hasn’t worked out. However, I contacted [...]

How To Get A Paid Waiting List Of Prospects
Posted on 16. Nov, 2011 by 7Figure Sam.
Hey, what’s up everyone? This is Christian from Super-Trainer.com and today I want to share with you guys how I create a waiting list and how I get that waiting list to pay me every single month while they wait to join my fitness program. Now the way this worked for us at least, this is just the way me and my wife run our business. We do semi-private training and me and my wife are really big on customer service and client experience when they’re inside our training studio. Now if any of you have come from that one-on-one personal training background like we have, I believe that one-on-one training has a higher retention rate and I think the main reason is because it’s a one-on-one setting and because you get more personal when it’s just you and one other client. Now with at least group training, we only train six to ten people. Now at least with ten people to six people, we feel that we can create that client-trainer experience and we can really get to know them. They actually feel that we’re paying attention to them and they’re not kind of lost like you would [...]

5 Great Online Fitness Marketing Ideas
Posted on 15. Nov, 2011 by 7Figure Sam.
Running a diversified fitness marketing program is the key to being successful in this industry. The old adage “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket” is especially true of advertising and marketing. Some people get hung up on emerging fitness marketing avenues like Facebook ads, “Deal of the Day” coupons, or text message marketing campaigns. These are all great ideas, mind you, but no one avenue is going to bring you riches. 1. Content Marketing: British Ad Executive David Ogilvy once said, “What really decides consumers to buy or not to buy is the content of your advertising, not its form,” meaning that engaging, informative content is what truly draws people to your business. Good fitness marketing should include maintaining several blogs that address concerns (and keywords) that your demographic is looking up on a daily basis. Your primary goal should not be to sell yourself, but to research and write the information that people are seeking online. When they find that you’re a great resource, you begin to gain their loyalty. Once you interest consumers in the topic, they will come closer to being ready to make a purchase – and how convenient that your link is there! [...]

Are You Running An Ethical Business?
Posted on 15. Nov, 2011 by 7Figure Sam.
Morals come into play with any business, whether you’re a politician who is engaging in extramarital affairs on the taxpayers’ dime, a restaurant owner who pays the mafia to break another restaurant owner’s legs, or a fitness trainer who tries to give out medical advice that he is not qualified to give. The International Fitness Association maintains that all fitness trainers should operate under a code of ethics that puts the clients’ health, safety and interests first. Whether you realize it or not, as a fitness trainer, you run into situations that involve ethics every day. Here are a few situations that would be considered unethical: Selling products you know suck or are unnecessary — just to get your client’s money. Creating workout schedules to meet your own quotas, rather than the client’s goals. Promoting products or services that are controversial or unproven. Engaging in sexual discussions with clients or physically touching them except to guide form. Yapping about things your client told you in confidentiality. Overhyping your expertise and training. Giving out medical advice, rather than referring clients to appropriate medical personnel. Soliciting clients from other trainers in your facility. Discriminating against clients based on race, religion, [...]

Fiverr Videos for SEO Boost
Posted on 14. Nov, 2011 by 7Figure Sam.
Hey this is Odhran McCorry from Personal Best PT in Newry, Northern Ireland. You can check out my website at http://personaltrainingnewry.com or my blog at www.personaltrainingnewry.tumblr.com Recently a lot of people have been talking about how great Fiverr is for cheap and cheerful graphic and video work so I wanted to continue the trend and show you a real quick example of how you can use these videos for SEO purposes. So how and why try and get your Fiverr videos ranked on Google? Google owns YouTube as I’m sure you are all aware. This makes YouTube an excellent resource for SEO because popular videos on YouTube scream at Google to be ranked due to Google liking and trusting YouTube content. Therefore you need to upload your video to YouTube to receive this massive SEO helper. Why should you use content from Fiverr? First of all it doesn’t have to include you. If you are shy in front of a camera, have a bad sales voice or have a face more suited for the radio than video, having a snazzy video with your logo and cool music makes the sale for you without the need for your presence. I’m not sure which of the [...]

Think BIG
Posted on 13. Nov, 2011 by 7Figure Sam.
Hey, it’s JSE with another video blog for Super-Trainer. How is it going? All right. This video topic is about thinking big and getting bigger results and I think at one time or another, all of us and definitely including me have been guilty of not thinking big enough in whatever we want to do. But right now, I’m just talking about your business goals and your business accomplishments and here’s what I mean. Sometimes, we – and I’m including me in this because I’ve done this too much in the past but no more. Sometimes, we think, “Well I’ll just do this little thing. It’s fairly easy. I can get it done pretty quickly and yield X as a result.” Instead of thinking in advance and well ahead and having some foresight to the greater scheme of things and saying, “If I plan a little bit more, if I take a little bit more time and if I believe more is possible, ultimately I will get a far greater result.” So what are the benefits of thinking bigger and getting bigger results? A lot of different things. Now I’m just going to go through them as they come to [...]

Funnels and Keg Stands
Posted on 12. Nov, 2011 by 7Figure Sam.
As a trainer I use to operate my business like a keg stand. I’d get an influx of clients and I’d be chugging as fast as you can to provide the service and forget about everything else. Then the flow of the clients would stop and I ‘d start the process all over and try to do it again. If you want a business that is automated, consistent, and provides max value for each client consistently then you must create a marketing funnel and get rid of the Keg stand model. Let me explain… A marketing funnel is the blue print or the treasure map that takes your prospective clients to your final destination – a paying, raving client that is happy to give you money because they feel like they are getting so much value they are ripping you off. 1.) As Stephen Covey put it – Begin wit the end in mind. Know what your ideal outcome for each client is. What is your ultimate goal? 2.) Design the entire “Courting” process you will take them through to become a client and convert them to raving referring fans. Make sure to come up with contingencies [...]

Joe Paterno – Passion and Purpose
Posted on 11. Nov, 2011 by 7Figure Sam.
As many of you know, I attended Penn State from 1991-1996 and graduated with a BS in Premed and a minor in nutrition. Even back then we made fun of Joe’s age. No one saw this coming….. Please read this entire post and leave me a comment. Would love to hear your thoughts. If you turned on any news station, picked up a newspaper or logged on to the Internet over the past couple of days what did you see? Headlines read, “Joe Paterno, Penn States legendary head coach has been fired.” After 46 years as Penn States head football coach, the board of trustees decided to terminate Paterno because of the 2002 sexual allegations against his former assistant coach, Jerry Sandusky. It’s not the allegation itself that caused the termination, but how Coach Paterno handled it or better yet, didn’t handle it. Sandusky, Paterno’s assistant coach for 30 years, was arrested Wednesday on allegations of more than 40 accounts of sex with a minor. In 2002, a graduate assistant witnessed one of these acts and reported it to Coach Paterno who then reported it to his superior, Gary Schultz and the Athletic Director, Tim Curley who both said [...]
