YOUNG, FAST, AND DOESN’T GIVE A F*@K: Talking To Alex Maroko About Fitness Marketing At Warp Speed!
Posted on 29. Jul, 2009 by Doug Groce, CSCS in Interviews, Marketing Fitness
If you’re still on the fence about this whole fitness information product world, then the interview I just did with basketball trainer, speed coach, and fitness marketer, Alex Maroko, may be just the guy to need to hear from to motivate you to get moving on this.
I met Alex when I was with Kaiser at Ryan Lee’s event a couple months ago. Because he was one of the only guys there my age (actually four years younger), I knew that this was someone I could learn from and was somebody that I had to get to know . Like me, Alex is a big believer that there are no good reasons or excuses (including age) that you can’t succeed in business online if you have something of value to offer – and he is walking, talking proof.
Alex is an extremely nice guy and is very passionate about business and marketing, and the cool thing is, he loves talking about business, which will become obvious to you during the interview. Pay attention to learn how he did it all so fast. By the way, I goofed and kind of butchered pronouncing his last name at the beginning of the interview. To set the record straight, it’s pronounced muh-rok-oh – like the country. Had to clear that up. Anyway..
Check out the interview here:
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Alex is a perfect example of someone with knowledge and expertise in a niche (basketball and speed training), who decided to share and sell his information online. In less than a year, he’s already climbed to the top level of the fitness marketing industry and has had the chance to network and learn from some of the heavy hitters in internet and fitness marketing. Guys like Kaiser, Joel Marion, Vince Delmonte, just to name a few..
He got his start online in the basketball niche earlier this year and has now moved on to marketing his new speed training product. Do yourself a favor and check out his newest websites and see what he’s doing lately.
As Alex suggested in the interview, you should get on his email list and observe how he does his marketing. This is one free way to learn from someone who doing it right. Like Kaiser talked about recently, if you’re looking for someone to MODEL yourself after, this is one of the people you’re going to want to pay attention to.
Now take your new found knowledge and perspective and go take some action – NOW!

Doug,
Great interview! It’s so inspiring to see some other young marketers making their name. Alex is doing an awesome job, definitely one to follow.
He shared some great tips on getting started and also connecting with JV’s and other marketers. Smart guy!
Thanks for the great info Doug!
Have an amazing day,

There are some major updates since they recorded the interview.
Alex just had a recent launch for his new quickness
product that did $75,000 in sales in under a week!
Ok, some of that money went to his affiliates ..
And ok, there was actually a couple of months of set-up
leading up to the launch …
But to pull in that kind of money from your fitness
knowledge without having to stand on your feet all day,
every day in a gym is something you have to pay attention
to.

Kaiser,
Great post, great info, and great interview.
It’s great to see some people getting out there, taking a little risk, and making things happen.
Heard a great quote today that sort of sums it all up…
“The greatest mistake you can make in life is to continually be afraid you will make one.” – Elbert Hubbard
Let’s all get out there and start doing.
Best,
Boh

Thanks Sirena – Yes us young guns have to look out for each other – We’re going to run this online world pretty soon!
Kaiser, I was thinking the same thing. This interview was almost obsolete after a month with all that’s been happening with Alex and his 75k launch -
Yeah David, it’s all about taking action – Literally, I’ve overheard people talking about an idea at these converences, and then that very same night, I’d hear that they’d created a product in the hotel room that same night. Seems to be a very common trait of the top marketers.

Well Done Doug!
Quite the exhilarating, informative interview packed with a ton of marketing tips. Alex has the infectious enthusiasm needed to make it really big. He’s on my radar screen… His product pages look visually awesome and have a ferocious call to action…
Stay tuned for mine. The clock is ticking!

Yeah Doug – I have a personal believe that time moves 6 times faster in the online world – so one month is the equivalent of 6 months – that means you can’t spend a year thinking about something and getting started look you could in the “good old days” – you have to get your ass moving and take action.
Yeah Rivak, Alex really gets it and his page was very good – and he backs it up – that’s him in all of the videos doing the demos – and you should look up his vids on youtube – the kid is incredible -
