From the desk of Kaiser …
Dear Fellow Trainer:
I know, the personal letter format has been done to death! - but it’s the only way I could think of getting this started.
I’m sure when you started out as a Personal Trainer, you had a very strong idea of what you wanted out of this field. There was a passion and freedom behind it; that’s what drove you to get started and that’s what you wanted to give to your clients.
But somewhere along the line things might have changed. You got mired in the status quo of training as it exists in the world today. Your vision may have become confined; Personal Training might have become a paycheck, a 9-5, a place to go, or a thing to do.
It’s time to get back to center! Welcome to Super-Trainer; here you’ll learn about the Profession of Personal Training in it’s most basic, liberating, and rewarding form. As you already know, Personal Training is one of the most amazing careers ever invented: it’s easy to get started, easy to do, and high paying all at the same time. That’s the reason thousands of people become trainers every year. In reality, a profession based on health, energy, mentoring, and leadership should be nothing but extremely rewarding to everyone involved.
But after a short time, what most new trainers realize is that the job isn’t all that they thought it would be. They find themselves in unsatisfying positions with low and uncertain salaries – trust me, I’ve been there. My main mistake in the beginning of my journey was my outlook; I looked at Personal Training like it was any other job. I tried to get the best certifications, learn as much as I could about selling, and attend the conferences to learn all the latest training techniques.
But these didn’t help at all. They actually drove me deeper into the rut I was already in and made me even more frustrated. The truth is that all of the information out there for Personal Trainers treats this just like any other career. That’s the first mistake, because it’s totally different.
After some time I learned there was a different class of trainer. These trainers had tons of freedom, fun doing their work, and their clients loved them. They drove nice cars, had nice tans, and went on frequent vacations; they were living what’s widely called the fitness lifestyle.
After helping friends and former clients get started and become successful in Personal Training I found out that my techniques for achieving both freedom and success could be duplicated by anyone. From there I decided to create Super-Trainer, because I have a passion for what’s possible in this field that I really wanted to share. This is my way to improve the profile of this industry, improve the quality of training for clients everywhere, and bring a more positive outlook to trainers everywhere (and get my name out there in the process, of course). I also want to introduce you to some of the best people in the industry, the ones that really “get it”. And through these profiles I always make sure I pull out the nuggets of information that cut through the rhetoric. I look for the critical thinking and implementable principles that will help you get the same quality of results.

Welcome to the Real World of Personal Training - THE SUPER-TRAINER BLOG AND COMMUNITY - Top Trainers, Real Insights, and Your Feedback!
Im not sure if you will get this email. My name is Jennifer Blackburn I spent the last six years of my life with Jason Hadeed and I am the mother of our two sons. I just wanted to say what a great tribute you paid to him on your website I am very thankful for that. I printed it off for the boys to read when they get older. Your words were kind and true. He will be so missed. Thank you again - Jennifer
Thank you Jennifer for you kind reply - my heart goes out to you and your family.
I’m just so happy I was able to speak to Jason and find out about the man he is while he was here. He was really a special person and impacted me greatly.
It’s also my honor to be able to let others find out about him through my interview. It was really the best one of the series content wise. Everyone listening should pay close attention, because you’re listening to the frank statements from the man, who considering his age and accomplishments, was headed straight to the top of this profession.
What a tragic loss.
Kaiser,
Thanks for the note. I’ll be sure to keep an eye on your blog. Some very good stuff on here.
Best,
Jim Labadie
