[youtube mpaGGpu22LU]   Hey, everybody. This is Emile Jarreau, M2 Fitness Pros in Long Beach, Cali; also known as Mr. Fat Loss and Jarreau the trainer. Hey, check this out. I want to piggyback off of an article that Seven-figure Sam just did and this is a hot topic right now. If you’re not listening, pay attention right now. We are coming into that time of the year where you need to start your marketing blitz for the 2012 calendar year. I have some resources here that are going to help you get this on blast right away. First thing. Get yourself a mind map system. Make a mind map. I’m sure you’ve seen them. I’ve done some other videos. I will be including some other things here shortly but this particular mind map system is real special for you today. I have a couple of links here you need to pay attention to right now. The one thing is this one, www.HolidaySmart.com/2012/year2012.htm. Go there. You’re going to get an image, a calendar that looks kind of like this one so that you can get an idea of what holidays are going to come up month to month throughout the […]

They sporadically do a fitness marketing campaign here and there. Most personal trainers and boot camp business owners run by the seat of their pants. To be successful in your fitness business it is essential to market strategically NOT emotionally. All your marketing should be thought of way ahead of time. Every year towards the end of the year I sit down for about 3-5 hours and plan my fitness marketing attack for the following year. I start by Googling “Major United States Holidays” and pick 2 Holidays to promote each month. Do the search; you will be surprised as to how many Holidays we really have. There are some Holidays we can really have fun promoting like, National Peanut Butter Day and National Pig-out Day. Once I am done with putting 2 Holidays to celebrate each month, I then go for birthdays and anniversaries (hire date) of employees and share holders, and I include the anniversary of our grand opening. Remember, all we are looking for is a reason to celebrate and have some kind of a promotion. So without further ado here is my fitness marketing calendar for our Chicago locations. The California locations will remain mostly the same […]

There’s a Reason Your Income Is Not Where You Want It To Be…

Most fitness entrepreneurs will say no. Most of us got into the business to help others, or because we love fitness, or had some kind of personal experience that encouraged us to start our own training business. Whatever the reason, making a ton of money was not the initial incentive. But, is there anything wrong with earning a nice income doing something you truly love?   One of the important elements in making the money you want is to understand your strengths and weaknesses and I’m not talking about the ability to push weights or run a 10K triathlon. I’m talking about strengths and weaknesses in running a successful fitness business.   Ask yourself this, “Am I providing enough value to my customers and prospects where they are willing to pay me for it?” There’s nothing greedy about this question. If you truly offer value to people, in any business or career, they will be happy to pay you for it.   So, you need to focus on what you are good at (your strengths) and pay others, assistants or contractors, to do the things you are not good at (your weaknesses). For example, if you are a terrible speller […]

Fitness Marketing Law #14 – The Law of Attributes

Fitness Marketing Law #14 – The Law of Attributes

The Fitness Marketing  law of attributes reminds me of the law of exclusivity and the law of the opposite. Almost in every law I discuss how important it is to be first in the prospect’s mind and that you must own a word that is solely yours, like Coca-Cola owns classic and the real thing and Volvo owns safety. The Fitness Marketing law of exclusivity states you can’t own the same position or word of your competitor and the law of the opposite states to use your competitors brand or word and do the opposite by creating your own word in the prospect’s mind. The Fitness Marketing law of attributes is similar to this philosophy.   Often times, entrepreneurs try to emulate the leading brand and end up failing. With the law of attributes you search for an attribute opposite of the leader to play against; having similarity just won’t work.  Fitness Marketing is a fight against different ideas and to be successful, you need your own attributes for your product or service. If not, then your focus better be on low pricing so it appeals to the prospect. Keep in mind, all attributes are not created equal and what […]
